Cyber Security Council of India (CSCI)
Cyber Security Council of India (CSCI) an affiliate body of Society for Accident Free Environment (SAFE) a not-for profit registered organisation based at Hyderabad.
CSCI was constituted with an objective to promote awareness on Cyber Security and prevent the citizens from Cyber Crimes/frauds/threats. CSCI is backed up by industry experts who can contribute their best of the expertise and knowledge for an effective delivery of the targeted tasks.
CSCI is pleased to associate with NSIC – A Govt., of India Enterprise under Ministry of MSME to organise Training Sessions on Cyber Security for the employees of Government departments, Banks and School Teachers.

Cyber Crime in India
Like many countries, India is also suffering increasingly from cyber crime. The most common form of cyber crime in India is financial fraud, accounted for 75%. The majority of the victims in the referred Cyber Crimes are individual common man. Many families are being left in the dark with financial damages due to the Cyber Crimes. Even though there is a system in place to fight against the Cyber Crimes, the lack of awareness in the public on how to complain, whom to approach etc., leaving many people helpless.
India is revolutionarily transforming towards digitisation in the last 10 years from corner to corner with the target and encouragement of the Government towards digital payments. Today there are about 30+ crores of UPI users and the number is rapidly growing. At this scenario, the awareness on Cyber Crimes & Security is inevitable to inculcate among the users / public at large.

Phishing
Fraudulent emails or SMS messages that trick you into revealing passwords, OTPs, or financial details by impersonating banks and government agencies.
Identity Theft
Unauthorized use of your personal data — Aadhaar, PAN, or bank information — to commit fraud, open accounts, or take loans in your name.
Online Fraud
Scams via fake e-commerce, lottery fraud, investment schemes (STO/FX), part-time job fraud targeting citizens.
Cyber Bullying
Harassment, threats, or humiliation conducted via social media, messaging apps, and gaming platforms.
Ransomware
Malicious software encrypting your files demanding payment. Frequently targets businesses and healthcare institutions.
Sextortion
Threats to share intimate images or videos unless payment or favours are met.
Digital Arrest
- Beware of fraudulent calls impersonating Police, ACB, CBI, Customs, or TRAI claiming 'Digital Arrest.'
- There is no such provision, and no government agency demands money over phone calls.
- Do not panic or make hurried financial transactions.
- Never share personal details, KYC information, or OTPs with unknown or suspicious individuals.
- Report immediately to National Cybercrime Helpline 1930 if you receive such calls.
Report a Cyber Crime in 4 Steps
Your complaint can protect thousands of others. Every report matters. The process is free and confidential.
Identify the Issue
Recognize the type of cyber crime. Note all relevant details: date, time, platform, persons involved, and amounts lost.
Collect Evidence
Take screenshots, save messages, URLs, emails, SMSes, and bank transaction IDs. Do NOT delete any data — it is crucial.
Report Online / Call
File at cybercrime.gov.in or call 1930. You can also visit the nearest Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police Station in person.
Follow Up
Keep your complaint registration number safe. Cooperate with investigating officers and monitor your case status online.

Do's
- Use strong, unique passwords for every account
- Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on all apps
- Keep software and operating system always updated
- Verify sender identity before clicking any link
- Only use official, verified apps and government websites
- Back up important data regularly on secure storage
- Report suspicious activity to 1930 immediately
- Use a VPN when accessing internet on public Wi-Fi
- Check bank statements regularly for unauthorized transactions
Don'ts
- Never share OTPs, passwords or CVV with anyone
- Don't click unknown links in SMS, email, or WhatsApp
- Avoid using the same password on multiple platforms
- Never download software from unverified sources
- Don't share personal info on unfamiliar websites
- Avoid financial transactions on public Wi-Fi networks
- Never pay upfront for jobs, prizes, or lottery winnings
- Don't respond to calls asking you to install remote apps
- Never ignore SSL/HTTPS warnings in your browser
Password Manager
Use a trusted password manager to generate and remember strong, unique passwords for every account.
HTTPS Always
Always check for the padlock icon and HTTPS before entering bank details, OTPs, or passwords online.
App Safety
Only install apps from Google Play or App Store. Review all permissions an app requests before installing.
Bank Alerts
Enable SMS and email alerts for every bank transaction. Report unauthorized debits to your bank immediately.

Dr N Rajsekhar
Chief AdvisorWith over 41 years of experience, Dr. Rajsekhar is a seasoned expert in banking, academic administration, organizational development, and digital learning (MOOCs).
He has held key leadership roles at SBI (1980–2001), ICFAI Hyderabad, Manipal University, and Jain Deemed University, currently consulting for corporates in Strategic Content Development.
- Edited two books titled Banking in the New Millennium and The New Age Marketing.
- Co-edited three books Viz. The Asian Banking Crises in the '90s, Banking Crises in Europe and Banking Crises in Americas.
- Specially invited and honoured by Former President Dr. Abdul Kalam on April 12, 2004 as recognition of academic innovation.
- Dr. Manmohan Singh released one of the publications of ICFAI and hosted a memorable function at his residence on Oct 4th 2004.
- PM Narendra Modi launched two academic publications related to Government and Governance in Ahmedabad.

Member & ConvenerMr Bharadwaj did his Post Graduation in Management in Finance. He has got about 30+ years of experience in multiple corporates in the areas of Finance and Corporate affairs.
Now he is an independent consultant for a couple of companies in Power Generation, Mining and Infra. He is a passionate leader with a vision towards Community Development through education. His areas of interests include leadership, business strategy and organizational building.

Member – Training, Research and DevelopmentMr Vittal is a Post Graduate in Computer Science, held senior positions with Osmania University affiliated colleges, CMC Education & Training and ICFAI National College network for teaching, non-teaching, administrative, research & development activities.
Presently consulting few educational groups for content development and digital class room / online-teaching solutions and Cyber Security.

A Sai Prabhakar
Member – Communications and PRMr Sai Prabhakar did his Masters in Computers Applications and was heading IT at ICFAI University's Research wing, Hyderabad from 2003 to 2013.
He was also involved in multiple corporate training sessions on IT, including ONGC, APSRTC and trained more than 10,000 employees.
